CB DOT (Community based Directly Observed Treatment) Programme

Government of India has signed Memorandum of Agreement with CARE, a renowned Internationally reputed NGO for Community Based Directly observed treatment provided program as a part of

control of Tuberculosis from India. Here the patients are administered medicine by the doctors/Health workers to ensure that the patient does not faulter in taking medicine so that continuity of treatment is maintained for timely cure of the disease.

SHIS has been successfully carrying on with this program over 20 years in the villages of Sunderbans in North and South 24 Parganas districts. CARE did not hesitate to entrust the stupendous work on SHIS and signed agreement with SHIS to cover 5 of the districts of West Bengal state. The districts are Malda, Murshidabad, Hooghly, Howrah and 24 Parganas South.

SHIS never sit idle once a project is moved. All efforts were put to execute the project and the first of such CB DOT Program has been set up in Malda district from where, not only the Malda district, but also entire North Bengal in future days, will be covered under this program.
