SHIS Deaf & Dumb School provides an environment where children learn to rely on their abilities, develop a sense of independence and nurture and improve their self-confidence. Founded by love and maintained by a deeply committed staff and caring community, this school is dedicated to the belief that hearing impaired children can learn to listen, talk and achieve success by participating in the hearing world around them.

The Oral- Aural (Lip-reading and listening) process is used as a mode of communication. Today there are 40 children in classes from Pre- Primary to IVth standard. One class is equipped with Group Hearing Aid System and Speech Therapy is given to each child individually.
