Institutional Delivery Center

Pregnancy related problems covers 60 to 70% of health related problems, specially of women in productive age group and birth and after birth related health problems are considered to be very significant aspect of health problems of women and also of children, specially in 0-6 yrs age group level.

Limited access to available resources and supports and inaccessibility and remoteness of areas of habitation is a negative factor for safe delivery.

The program aims to increase availability of delivery and newborn care services through Private Public Partnership for families with focus on free service to BPL families and ANC coverage along side immunity drive.

The beneficiary gets the following services free of cost under this scheme :

Normal delivery in accredited GP Headquarter (Sub Center) and in mobile boat.
Janany Suraksha Yojana (JSY) in case of Institutional delivery in Government hospitals.
Promotion of Institutional delivery/ safe deliveries by trained personnels
Advising Institutional delivery for those with health/ obstetric problems.

Currently, two such centers are running, one in North 24 Parganas, at Nazat PHC, and another at Rakhalpur under Patharpratima Block of South 24 Parganas. SHIS has also opened Nursing Home cum Maternity Center at SHIS Headquarter, SHIS Sebayan.
